Curtain goes up on the hall's new look
Facilities at Englefield Green Social Club's hall in Harvest Road have been updated, thanks to money from environment fund Biffaward.
The club has put in a heating system, dormer windows have been repaired and replaced and the ladies' toilets have been refurbished.
Alan Crouse, chairman of St Jude's Players' Social Hall Committee, the group which manages the building said: "I would like to thank Biffaward on behalf of all our users for their generous support."
He added: "This grant has enabled us to further improve the energy efficiency of the
building and the hall facilities to give greater benefit to the users and completes this final important phase of our refurbishment programme for the social hall."
Biffaward donated ã42,362 to numerous community groups in Englefield Green.
Gillian French, programme manager for Biffaward said: "Meeting places are vital for communities and Biffaward is pleased to have supported this worthwhile project."
The refurbishment is the final phase of a programme of improvement and renovation from St Jude's Players' Social Hall Committee.
