Litter free school wins award

st-judes-school-litterweb.jpgChildren at St Jude's school in Englefield Green were presented with a gold award by Runnymede council for keeping their school litter free.

The youngsters have been taking part in the council's McDonalds Litter award scheme, which encourages them to look after their school by discouraging fellow pupils from dropping litter and by taking part in litter-picking.

Earlier this month their efforts were rewarded when they were given a gold certificate by Runnymede mayor Jim Broadhead during a ceremony at the civic offices in Addlestone.

Pat Burke, deputy headteacher, said: "The children regularly volunteer to be part of the litter picking team - we are very proud of their achievement."

We'd like to hear from you.
