An email from the Prime Minister...

Posted by Kevin Barry on Sep 23, 08 09:44 AM in

The Prime Minister has emailed to say that he is working to reduce our dependance on Oil. Meanwhile a News Item reports that to reduce her dependance on Oil HM the Queen has installed energy generating equipment on her Balmoral Estate.

I realise that most households cannot afford to follow the example of the Queen, but thinking of our Old Age Pensioners and their Heat or Eat problem, I would like our Prime Minister to investigate the possibility of installing energy saving equipment for our pensioners. The ideal person with the talent to successively organise such an event, is Sir Richard Branson. The Government tell us that there are no surplus funds to help our OAP's. To compensate for this failure, a gesture of good intent would be if the Labour Party could donate J.K.Rowling's £1M gift to the cause. As for the balance, I am sure, most Premiership Footballers would give a months salary to our old folks. What is absolutely essential is for the Prime Minister to take swift positive action to help our pensioners. The Heat or Eat dilemma is not a plot organised by the media, it is a very real problem that will not be resolved by the Government's winter allowance scheme. Far too many of our pensioners are worried as to how they will manage through this coming winter. Before Mr Gordon Brown and his rapidly disintegrateing Labour Party depart for another long spell in opposition the PM should prove he is not just another vacuous politian promoted beyond his ability.

We'd like to hear from you.

Having watched ther ups and downs of the british economy for many years this recession is quite different from the last one.Banks have wasted all our money and now we have to lend them even more to start again. The problem is that will not help as Banks still do not lend to business for new ventures ie building. You see much of our employment comes from house building which provides buyers which provides needs such as furnishings, extensions wealth to buy holidays, cars, weddings for the kids in fact almost everything.Stamp duty needs to be half of percent up to £500k then one percent to £1million. Exchanges should be nil to £500k then hald after that.Banks made to lend when given loans. This is the only way to kick start the economy.
