Reported in The Surrey Herald, Council Leader Nick Skellett is about spend ã10,000 of Taxpayers money on a Junket (described in the Herald as a booze up) but explained by the Surrey Council Leader as - "Not a social gathering, it is for board level people, and outside speakers on issues facing Surrey and our organisations" The venue was a luxury hotel in Cobham. Past experience tells me that you do not have any influence over your people, even to advise them the error of their ways. But do you think you could hint at them, that, as Leader it does make you look a bit of a silly billy if they spend all that dosh on drink and things especially at this time of recession and with so many people losing their jobs and homes. Could you also remind them that you are still trying to get rid of the tag of being the Nasty Party bestowed on the Cons by the lady who always wore expensive shoes. Don't worry Dave, with friends like Theresa May and Nick Skellett..........
